The Wenatchee Valley is a wonderfully diverse area that caters to everyone. What are your interests and desires?
Outdoor activities top my list of attractions. I'd like to direct you to websites that encourage and promote recreation in North Central Washington.
http://www.Wenatcheeoutdoors.org is your one-stop shop for information on where to go, when, and what to do when you arrive. In addition to a plethora of activities you'll find articles on safety, how-to, what to take and sharing of how it went for other like-minded people sharing their stories.
evergreenmtb.org Like to ride bike? In the dirt? This is your ticket to information on every facet of mountain biking. Look for how-to, trail maps, where to ride and whose riding today.
http://www.wenatcheevalleyvelo.com If it is road riding you prefer visit the local velo club website. You can find hammer heads and the casual Saturday morning ride with the only goal in mind of arriving at the Anjou Bakery for fabulous pastry and espresso - Oh and good company.
www.scottishlakes.com Do you like to ride road bikes? This is your group! You'll find a mix of competitive racers and Saturday morning casual riders looking to get to the Anjou bakery for espresso and to die for pastry.
www.skileavenworth.com is a great site that promotes skiing in and around Leavenworth and highlights a few activities the year-round. You'll find plenty about the Junior Nordic Ski Team and their accomplishments.
http://missionridge.com/ is your portal to alpine skiing just a short half hour south of Wenatchee. Its a home town hill with nearly no lift lines and dry, fluffy powder a good part of the year. Lots of fun can be found here both on the hill and in and around the lodge.
www.lakewenatcheeinfo.com Just a bit beyond Leavenworth you'll find pristine Lake Wenatchee, a glacier fed lake with many moods. The Lake Wenatchee / Plain area 18 miles north of Leavenworth is home to myriad outdoor pursuits. You can snow mobile, X-C ski, ice skate on Fish Lake nearby, hike, road bike, mtn bike or head into the Glacier Peak wilderness area for endless days of hiking, mountaineering and more.
www.stevenspass.com provides current conditions for alpine and Nordic skiing and promoting additional promotion of activities après ski.
www.scottishlakes.com Here's a special hide-a-way not so commonly known of in the North Central Washington playground. You'll be carried first in a chained up, four wheel drive vehicle to mid-mountain where your food and duffel bags of clothing, ski gear, snow shoes or whatever you elect to bring (no snow mobiles, thank you) are transferred to snow mobiles. You arrive at high camp to a cozy, wood stove heated cabin for a weekend of snow based activity. It is a unique experience you'll not soon forget.
